I'm liking American Apparel's Cotton Spandex Jersey Bandeau Dress:

$36.00. Is it worth it? I'm tempted.

No items over $20.00? We must investigate [09 Jun 2007|11:44am]

After reading an article about it yesterday and today, I'm interested in checking out Sarah Jessica Parker's clothing line, Bitten. The only Steve & Barry's in Phoenix (or Arizona, for that matter), is at Desert Sky Mall at 75th Ave. and Thomas. Who wants to schedule some time to make an outing?

I have yet to see what the entire line looks like, but there was a preview that Sarah Jessica Parker did on Oprah May 18th: click. The "Fashion for All" link has a slide show of outfits.

I've been reading some blogs and reviews that:
- call the line boring and uninspired
- question the quality of the line

I guess that doesn't bother me because you get what you pay for, plus cheap is good for getting basics. I've gotten clothes from H&M and Forever 21 that have been pretty crappy too.

With as much hype as there was/is surrounding the Kate Moss Topshop collection, I am not impressed. Maybe it's just not my style.

So I have been wanting jean capris that end at the ankle but are folded up like... I would say 50's style. I don't know where to look or what I would even call them! Help me I am a shopper in need!

I always appreciate nice marketing materials that different companies/stores put out. I got this White House Black Market catalog in the mail:

Kraft paper with metallic silver flourishes? Nice.
(Don't ask me how the girl butchered my name. Is "Shirley" really that hard to spell? Is it that uncommon? That's not the worst though. Some guy at Dilly's Deli once spelled my name "Shirky." How, I don't know).

Aside from that though, I like the pieces that White House Black Market has. Last time when they were getting their new season of clothes in, their dresses were 50% off! Still expensive, yes, but I couldn't resist. (Another LBD? Of course!) Plus, how can you go wrong with white and black? They're such staples.

Blossom Print Dress

This looks a lot like the dress I got at Mervyn's, only about $108 more.

Construction is to Boot as Ballet is to . . . [20 Apr 2007|06:17pm]

Don't call me on my analogy, but have I mentioned before how I am a big fan of the ballet flat trend? I hope it sticks around. More dressy than flip-flops, but less than heels. (It keeps my feet cleaner than flip-flops too!)

Greg asks me when I buy scrapbook supplies why I'm buying more when I haven't used up the supplies I already have. Oh, Greg . . . you can never have "enough" scrapbook supplies. You're only limited by the depth of your pockets and the amount of storage space you have, but even that doesn't stop many people . . .

Etsy [15 Apr 2007|02:38pm]

Have you ever been to a website with so many things on it that you don't even know where to begin looking . . . so you don't? That's what Etsy is to me.

I decided to spend some time tackling all the neat things on there though, so here are some cool things I saw:
(Click for link to the item)

Hand-made linen bag
Seller: vintage

Posh pouch diaper and wipes holder
Seller: Keiki Boutique
Not sure about how practical it is since I have no experience with diaper-needing babies . . . but looks good!

~ clear acrylic stamps a la Technique Tuesday, Autumn Leaves, and FontWerks.
~ a wide belt that actually fits me well, doesn't make me look shorter/squatter than I already am, and isn't ridiculously expensive?

Update [13 Apr 2007|12:19pm]

Right now:
-- Stores I'm shopping:
Target, T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, eBay, Zappos, craft stores (Michaels, Joann, A.C. Moore). I'm going to be into anything that sells baby stuff and scrapbooking supplies.
-- Web sites I'm checking: Baby Center, for baby advice/info, etc. Their store is really good too.
-- Blogs I'm reading: Digg-Frank got me into it. It's a huge time-sucker.
-- Clothes I'm wearing: Casual Friday stuff (Old Navy sweatshirt, American Eagle t-shirt and jeans)
-- Shoes I'm wearing: Heart-patterned, slip-on sneakers from Payless
-- Stuff on my shopping list: Baby gear, scrapbooking supplies, sandals, work-appropriate clothing, books and magazines

I am in love with these shoes. [17 Feb 2006|12:40am]

Sonia by Gallaz

  • Brushed suede toe and heel.
  • High cut, breathable knit top with unique graphic.
  • Pom-pom tie detail.
  • EVA footbed.
  • Suede wrapped die-cut EVA.
  • Crepe effect rubber outsole.

They're like a slipper and a shoe all rolled into one, and they look super comfy. The price -- $ 97.95 -- is the only thing stopping me.

*edit: I always forget to check this, but I just thought to -- They don't have my size in stock. They have every other size except 8. How annoying. I guess it's probably for the best. Fate is telling me it's not meant to be. :(

Lip Medic is lip balm central. They even have a lip balm of the month feature where you can buy a year's worth of lip balms. I am in heaven. Daily Candy is offering a 30% discount when you enter DAILYDEAL at checkout.
